The Ridings, Wakefield – Upper Mall near Esquires Coffee Shop

It’s that time again! Every year during November and December Amnesty International asks its supporters to join their Write for Rights campaign and write a letter, sending a message of hope to someone suffering human rights abuses.

This weekend the Wakefield local group of Amnesty International (AIUKW) are presenting another opportunity to take part in this excellent annual campaign.

So why not come along to The Ridings Centre in Wakefield, to write a letter or a card.

By taking part in this invaluable campaign, you are making a real difference to someone’s life. In Amnesty’s words,

“Presidents, police chiefs and prison governors do take note when they receive hundreds of appeals to release a prisoner, stop the harassment of an activist or change an unjust law.”

Please, cherish YOUR freedom of expression and use it to stand up for the freedom of othersThere is never a time when this is not important.

Please view this video from last year’s highly successful campaign so that perhaps today, more than ever, you can make a difference.

See you there!
